The Prema association supports the non-profit organization NGO "The Society of the Good Shepherd Sisters" in India, which is committed to enabling girls affected by child labor to go to school. The children are usually accommodated in day schools so that they can be with their families again in the evening.

 

Sister Pushpa Louis was elected provincial leader for Central and East India and Nepal on November 21. Her mandate began on January 5, 2020. The Assembly of the Order was held in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India on November 16-23, 2019.

 

Pushpa was born in Kadiapatnam, Tamil Nadu and joined the order in Bangalore in 1985. She took her final vows in 1993. Pushpa holds a certificate in social work, a bachelor degree in 1998 and a master degree in sociology in 2001 and a law degree in 2008.

 

Pushpa hat viel Erfahrung mit Sozialarbeit, da sie mit den Aboriginals 12 Jahre in den ländlichen Gebieten gearbeitet hat.
